"I have all the equipment I'll ever need..said no photographer, ever!"

Writer's picture: Suzi ReeSuzi Ree

Equipment: I have a total of four cameras that are in working order, but I only ever use two. My favorite pro-camera is a Nikon d7000, with two basic lenses - a wide angle and a zoom, both with auto-focus and macro functions, both described in more detail in my previous blog post. This is of course, considered 'old' equipment and certainly not top of the line in terms of what's out there, however this is what works for me and I trust it. I would rather have a camera that I've become very familiar with and understand it's possibilities than to have the latest and greatest and feel like a fish out of water. I have a Di-Image 3 as well but only as a back up in case the Nikon fails while out on a shoot. I still have my first point and shoot, a PhotoSmart M627, sitting on the shelf just being cute. My go-to daily just for fun is my Android phone - but I never use it for professional work. NEVER. It is for those happy, snappy, personal quick shots that I can take and upload to social media in two seconds flat. I simply do not trust a cell phone to do the work my Nikon is capable of. That said, you can have the fanciest or the least expensive camera and accessories, and with the understanding of the technical features and the limitations of your camera, the quality of your photography is in your hands. What kind of camera do you prefer?
